For switches, transfers, converters. Corners, diverters etc. in ANY direction. Thanks to their ingenious technology, these patented avancon OTU-2 (Omni-directional Transfer Units) offer a simple, space-saving and powerful solution in conveyor technology and logistics systems.

All movements of the patented avancon OTU are built with very sophisticated construction to incorporate all elements into this little block.

With this incredibly engineered modular brick you can put together tables in conveyor systems of all applications and movements, which automatically convey into any direction.

The injection molding parts are precisely made of High-Tech reinforced Polymer Materials, which are highly impact resistant and abrasive. 

All spindles run on Precision Ball-Bearings 2RS.

This avancon OTU-2 module can be simply plugged together using the dovetails and modularly strung together with the toothed belts in between. This gives you tables of any size for switches and diverters, crossings, corners, converters and sorters and much more.

As a universal and variable element, the OTU-2 is able to transport almost all goods with a flat floor at a speed of 0.3 m/s to 1.5 m/s.

The avancon OTU-2 drives the rollers directly via a bevel gear system inside.

Up to 12 avancon OTU-2s are mounted on a special aluminum profile, with the avancon BLDC motors installed in the first two modules to drive the rollers via toothed belts and control the rotation of the roller heads via a modular gear rack. The first module is lower in height so that it fits under a roller of the roller conveyor.


This creates avancon OTU-2 lines that can be easily installed - like a roller - in the main conveying direction. A special frame made of aluminum profiles is available for this purpose, which can be easily installed at any point on a roller conveyor.


All avancon OTU-2 lines are connected with T5 belts and the direction is changed via a modular toothed rack. The two new avancon brushless high-performance DC motors are responsible for this.

The avancon OTU-2 modules measure 75.4 x 75.4 x 133 mm.

Here you can see the excellent and simple idea that the avancon OTU-2 profile is made of aluminum and the OTU-2 is pushed onto it. Below are the ribs that hold the ASi cables (yellow for the ASi control, black for the motor), all controls.


On the right side you can see the installed avancon OTU-2 Line, which you can easily put into the conveyor frame with the 2  screws on each side, similar to installing a roller.

For small goods with a flat base, the individual avancon OTU-2 lines can be offset by 37.5 mm.

Each line of an avancon OTU-2 table can be individually programmed, both in terms of the degree of direction change and the speed.

The avancon OTU-2 turnouts, the avancon OTU-2 corners and the avancon OTU-2 crossings are completely pre-assembled - with all avancon controllers and avancon BLDC motors - and are tested in-house.

All these sideways movements and transfers are carried out with the same design. There is only ever one OTU module or the new OTU2 line.

OTUs (Omnidirectional Transfer Units) allowed to build complex distribution system

In this application you can see how easy it is to design corners, rectangular diverters and diverters - even diverters across several conveyor sections - with avancon OTU-2 lines. In the past, this would have required 3 or 4 different designs, which would also not have fitted into the stacked conveyor sections due to their height. This system was put into operation in 2019 and is running to the full satisfaction of the customer in front of an automated ASRS high-bay warehouse in northern Italy.

 Double-X-Switch

This inexpensive double-X transfer unit distributes the goods flows either straight ahead or to a different roller conveyor in each case and is controlled fully automatically via the barcode readers read on the upstream conveyors.
